Bricked Extreme II (fixed)

Postby DaveTC » February 15th, 2013, 9:01 pm

Well after my missus' elite died, we were sent back an Extreme II.
Now I tried to flash CWM onto it, and rebooted, since then it appears to be completely bricked. Although I backed up all the nand blocks, only nandf is in the /dev/block folder. I'd assume if I could get it to fastboot I might be able to reflash things then, but I can't for the life of me get it to fastboot (that and I'm probably missing the fastboot drivers).

If anyone has any ideas that might help me, I'd be very grateful.

Hi,

From reading around it seems like the partitions have become corrupted during flashing.

Apparently flashing a ROM with Livesuite which formats the partitions should fix it.

Have you had any joy with it yet?

I tried flashing with Livesuite and even that didn't seem to work.

I'm waiting to hear back from SO about the original FW.

I can flash a cpl of different images now however they are not compatible and just show backlit screen.

There's ways out of it just a matter of time.

I'll compile a list of ROM's that I have tested so we can both try and save time.

Does anyone know what this is a clone of? i.e yarvik or Eken?

Hi DaveTC,

For the time being this rom will get you up and running.

It's not ideal but get's it working for the time being.

Not working
-screen rotation
-Wifi
-bluetooth

Will look at the best version of CWM and then start playing around with custom roms.

Just flash with Livesuit. If you still have problems then I'll give you a link to alter partitions.

@DaveTC - After you flash with the above from merkmcmadman, you might be able to put back your copies of the nand blocks back to the tablet via ADB or Terminal Emulator, not 100% sure it will work, but worth a try I guess.

Thanks a lot, that image works... when I've got the chance to try flashing the nand blocks I'll let you know how it goes.

Good stuff Dave. I'm in the same boat as yourself however I didn't make a backup  so let's hope we can get it sorted.

I had the tablet for a full 5 mins before doing it. Ha ha

Well flashing my nand blocks back over seems to have done the trick at least... Though It lost the Play Store without then doing a factory reset... if you could do with a copy of the nand blocks (I'll leave out the data block) I can help you out.
