Glad you got a result but no need to thank me as you did it all yourself.
The only reason I asked what happens when you try to use Livesuite is that I have had occasions where Livesuite refused to work at all.

However, I discovered that by uninstalling Livesuite (deleting it from my system) and then unpacking it afresh refreshed everything and hey Ho I could use it again OK.

As far as which is the best firmware to flash, I can't help you there as I don't have experience of your tablet but I gusess from your point of view it will be the one that works.

Chances are you can find out more on XDA developers

Good luck with future firmware changes. :D

Me again.. Am I causing too much problems??

I asked about the image to use as I am sure I have it on one of my hard drives but not sure of the filename to look for. I think is was "sugsy'" image and was probably the better image. The reason I ask that is on checking my tablet today there is a big problem by the looks of it.
On checking the storage tab this is what it shows
Internal
787mb Total space
Apps 206
Available 479

Internal storage
SD card
Mount SD card

USB Storage
Mount SD card.

I seem to have lost about 5 gig of internal storage somewhere along the line?

I used an updated version of Livesuite I think 1.07 to flash with. I believe there is a 1.09 version? but the download links all not worked for me. I found the video on you tube how to use Livesuite a great help. I think it mentions a link to that video somewhere on this forum.

All in all, still not finished by the look of it. Can anybody point me in a direction where I can get my SD card to be an external drive again so I can maybe us CWM and also has anyone any idea how I have lost all of my space on the tablet when i flashed with the rom I mentioned in earlier post. Hope I get there in the end. Thanks in advance for any input.

To the best of my understanding the partitioning of the nand is part of the flashing process presuming you choose force format when using Livesuite.

From your original thread I am working on the basis that your tablet is an original Scroll Extreme.
Suggsy89 did some work on the Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 firmware for the Extreme which I believe was based on a Yarvik stock rom. The links to that is here

All the tools you may want to use can be found here Use at your own risk.

And some additional options that may have not been fully tested on their respective devices can be found here

If you want JellyBean then you must track down the correct image and compatibitlity zip at XDA developers I know that MOMO9 works on the Excel but no idea about the Extreme.

Good luck :)

Yes it's original extreme I bought last year from ebuyer.

I am not sure but don't think I can use any of the zip files on your link as they need CMW to flash and as I dont have a SD external drive, the tablet does not see the file on the SD card? Please correct me if I am missing something ?? I am using livesuit to flash the tablet and that needs .img type files. That is what I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of.

I am just trying to get back to how it was before or at least to a working state where I have more than 800 meg on main drive and can put a 32 gb card in an external drive.

thanks :?

I have found a way to get permissions to copy a new vold.fastab file to etc folder. Please could someone post what my vold.fastab should look like from their extreme tablet, so I can check if mine reads correctly and then maybe get my external SD drive back. Thanks once again

Update 156 lol. Well I read a few hundred more pages on the site and i think Trashcooky might have already told me about this but anyway, I installed this image tonight. ids10-a41_v2.0.4-23082013. It seems to be great at the moment. I had to download Superuser to get root permissions but storage now is 756mb and a second one of 5.54 gb so that looks good. Still no luck with the SD card as that is still showing as an internal drive. So just a final tweak needed if possible. Anyone have any ideas... Thanks
