Android Gallery Really Slow

Hi Guys,

I am having a problem with viewing pictures in the standard Android Gallery on my scroll. I have placed some pictures on the internal memory of my scroll. The gallery recognises the pictures as I can drill into them, but it takes AGES to thumbnail them (i.e. I have left it for 5-10 minutes and it hasn't thumbnailed any), and there is also a lot of lag when scrolling through the pictures (approximately 10-20 seconds to move from one picture to another).

I do not have any lag when running videos from internal memory however, suggesting that this is an issue specific to the Gallery and JPEG parsing rather than a device issue with internal memory.

Any ideas or solutions?

I think a lot of users have had the same issue (its not a very good app) - install a new app and use that instead, if i remember right, someone on here has suggested 'Perfect Viewer'

A quick update. I have found that the 2D Gallery works ok its just the standard Gallery which is slow, the 2D version displays the pics at much lower quality though. I have downloaded Perfect Viewer, it seems pretty good but does anyone know how to thumbnail pics in it rather than view each one individually?
