Help - Have I busted my scroll?

Postby Stuben » January 16th, 2011, 7:48 pm

My scroll kept freezing on me after loading Kindle for android, so had to keep powering off to reset.
After a few times of doing this my scroll would not get past the Welcome android start up screens. Tried powering off and on again a few times and waited almost 20 mins but still not getting past Welcome android screens.
Bit the bullet and decided on a factory reset, which seemed to go ok, but now all I get is a screen displaying "Welcome to Android for Telechips TCC8900 Evaluation Board (US)" and a Green Andorid figure with a message saying " touch the android to begin" I touch the android as instructed but nothing happens. Also there are 2 touch buttons on bottom bar "Emergency Dial" which on touching has no effect. and "change language" which allows me to choose language.
Any Idea's on how to fix it or have I bricked my scroll?
Steve

Yeap was plugged in and charging when I did Factory reset.
Is it possible the internal image is corrupt or wiped?
If so is there any way to get an Image and restore from sd card or usb?

I can just suggest you try the reset again. Someone else may have more help for you.

Tried a reset again with no joy.
What i have managed to do is to connect to pc and install Clockworkmod recovery using Warpedflash's "Alternative version" Instructions. That was successful and now can boot into recovery mode. (ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.1.3)
Tried wipe data / factory reset from new menu, but still same results.
Did a backup to sd card which seemed to go ok other than the folowing messages.
"No /sdcard/.android_secure found. Skipping backup of applications on external storage"
and
No sd-ext found. Skipping backup of sd-ext.

I've got the same problem as described in the first post, after doing a factory reset on my gen 1 Scroll (51624). I've finally managed to get ADB working on Windows 7, but have not had total success following WarpedFlash's process
(viewtopic.php?t=946&p=8253)

My device shows in Device Manager as an Android ADB interface, but when I try to run the first .bat file (adb-windows reboot bootloader) nothing happens on the tablet. I suspect that the tablet isn't in USB debugging mode, but have no means of checking or changing this setting as I can't get back into Android.

Any ideas??
