great i have read up on it the one in the other post it is 3 latest one (there was a silver one come out over a year ago) so you can be total portable with this and free from having it connected to the computer? this is on my shopping list! what is the speed like for you?

I have the new black one as illustrated.
Speed of course depends on the signal and whether you can get 3G or not, but I have not had any problems with "normal" activities - web browsing, email, download apps, streaming radio, even low res YouTube. Battery life is okay, about 4 hours as advertised, and as posted earlier you can drive it off the scroll USB if you have sufficient battery or mains power. So yes you can be totally portable.
You control the device through a browser interface, so you can configure the built in router, keep track of usage, send / receive text messages, etc.

I use the black one with most off my mobile gadgets the black mifi can have 5 wifi devices connected at once if needed it also have quite a good user interface (better then some home routers)

if you ask the right people in store they will do you the mifi and a 10GB usage for £15 a month on a rolling 1 month contract (plus the cost of the mifi modem £50 ish I think)
It is suppose to be there iPad deal but works just fine in the mifi ;)
