Myplayer again!

Postby andrewW » January 24th, 2011, 2:56 pm

I am confused :? Myplayer used to work on My Scroll until about 4 days ago. When I launch it now it attempts to load the app but all I see very briefly is a list of the programmes available and then it shuts down.

A brief Google brought up a BBC forum where there were many complaints back in November last year about it not working on anything other than iPhones, etc because the BBC in their wisdom had blocked it. I then found a link to 4share where the original working version was supposedly available, sns.myPlayer-1.apk

This I downloaded on my PC, copied to the SD card and installed on the Scroll. This wont work either.

Any suggestions please or am I wasting my time?
Andrew

I have wasted enough time on this already - lol

Well the one i have still works (from 4shared) - but no download option (never had that from day 1) and the stream is of very poor quality (not worth watching) if others say their streaming view is good, they need to go to specsavers - lol

I am going to remove the F*********** app from my scroll :)

I agree, the image quality is poor. I read somewhere that it is intended for smartphones with their small screens and the BBC decided that they didn't want it displayed on our 'large' screens showing the defects!!

I can live without it but just annoyed that it now no longer works. Perhaps they (the BBC) will come up with a better version ;)

Seems like most people have given up with myplayer.
get_iplayer seems promising, see viewtopic.php?f=16&t=76&start=30#p3570
