Manually switch on Wi-Fi every time??

Postby 0asis2007 » January 21st, 2011, 6:10 pm

Is it normal to have to switch on the Wi-Fi through the Settings each time you turn the Scroll on?

I'm sure I wasn't doing this when I first got my Scroll, but after installing (then uninstalling!!) a WiFi switching app, it seems to need a manual start each time now.
Anyone know how I can revert back to "auto-WiFi on" each time the Scroll is switched on?

TIA :D

Scroll Instruction Manual
For the latest, up-to-date manual, please visit http://www.storageoptions.com
CONNECTING TO A WIRELESS NETWORK
1. Go to Settings  Wireless & Networks  Wi-Fi Settings
2. Touch the “Network Notification” option to enable (a green tick will appear in the checkbox)
3. A list of the available wireless networks will appear under “Wi-Fi Networks”.
4. Touch the network you want to join and input the appropriate security key (you may need to refer to your
router’s user manual for the key).
You will now be connected to your wireless network and can use Internet-based services on your Scroll. It will
remember your network key and automatically connect you to your wireless network when powered on and in
range.

mmmm doesnt auto connect

I find if i give the scroll time it will connect to wifi, but as i am usually impatient , i find myself going into settings to connect and notice that it is obtaining its ip address. Having said that there is times when it doesnt connect automatically but for me these are few and far between

I've been using a few of the CurveFish widgets for a while now, they're simple, but excellent.

Yeah peeps were turning airplane mode on then switching wifi back on (increases battery time as airplane mode kills any remaining telephony processes)... If you've done the telephony removal job then airplane mode shouldn't be needed anyway.

Removing those 3 files... In that order negates the need for airplane mode as those 3 are responsible for phone mode
