install-recovery.sh file needed. firmware 1.01

Postby Fonefixer » January 16th, 2011, 8:31 pm

Does anyone with firmware 1.01 have the "install-recovery.sh" file handy that i could have please? Its the one you need to delete from the scroll in order to flash it with clockworkmod.

I backed mine up somewhere and think ive lost it.. If someone could upload it somewhere and link it here i'd appreciate it...

Thanks
Dave

well....

I removed it from my scroll to install cwm, thought i had saved it somewhere on my pc and now i cant find it.

Was just curious what would happen if i replaced it on my scroll after installing cwm. i.e. whether it would revert back to the stock recovery

My fault for not keeping the orinial file safely. I need to return the new one to maplins now, same hardware button fault as the previous one. Maybe a faulty batch.

Well, if anyone does have this file please post as I think it best to returtn it to stock before i go back to maplins with it.

After working @ Maplins in a previous life I can tell you 1/2 the staff won't even know how to switch the scroll on, let alone tell if there's a file missing...They're only one step up from Maccy Dees ;)

this is for 0.94 (but i think they are all the same) you will need the service command line in file init.rc

service flash_recovery /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
oneshot

+ file /system/recovery-from-boot.p (if you are trying to do what i think you are)

cheers charlie, Im trying to load the new firmware. I found a install-recovery.sh file in the new update.zip and put that in the right place. However, im now getting a device id error and i "think" its an error in my build.prop file.

When trying to apply the update.zip I get the error:
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "tcc8900" II getprop("ro.build.product") =="tcc8900"
E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted

Any ideas?
