Uh huh... except they removed market/youtube support and broke the touch screen.

Nope Im the only one to have flashed it so far and it killed the touchscreen

What did it do to the touchscreen, eleborate?
Did you manage to revert the update/damage if so how?

Hmm I have clockwork installed so I recovered.
It killed it... nothing no reactions to anything hard keys worked fine touchscreen did nothing.

Hmn if an official firmware kills the screen that's got to be good for buisness lol
So anyone that has clockwork installed can't really brick there device or for that matter actually expect a firmware update to actually update! It would have to be a modified firmware update to uh um update a rooted, clockworked Scroll!

Is that all correct or am I missing something?

If you use Warpedflash's update of the SO update, (only if you have CWM) - you should be able to restore your scroll.

A few (not me) have tried the update and as warpedflash says it kills the scroll. But they have restored their scroll with their CWM backup.

So the guess is that the SO update on a stock scroll - will break the scroll and you will have no backup , apart from going back to SO - and say ' your update you gave me broke my scroll' -

May the force be with you. ;)

let us know if there is any advantage to installing the update. I currently have a very useful rooted, market enabled 0.94. Only want to risk bricking it for a good reason or an Android 2.2 update.

PLEASE can someone say if this update is good or bad or has a high danger warning, as forum non-techies may try to update their firmware from this official source and end up with a doorstop, I appreciate the technical arguments, but would like owners to be advised one way or the other at this time !

So to save me reading through all these pages. are we saying that without CWM this update would have worked fine, but because of it, nothing seems to work touchscreen / hardkeys etc ?

I cant tell if it works on normal units. I tried and got loads of errors. The only thing I did see which was odd was when I did the data reset part it froze my screen before i even attempted to flash 1.02. Hard buttons still worked.
Without the data reset it still wouldnt flash.

No one with a stock scroll will fucking try it!

There is no reason having a custom recovery will effect teh /SYSTEM partition they have nothing to do with each other.
Someone with a stock scroll needs to test it but from here it looks like a fucked update that stops the screen working.

I have an idea......
In the update from SO theres a recovery.img file. If I use the same method used to get cwm on my scroll, but use the recovery.img from SO maybe that will reinstall the stock recovery.

Ay thoughts on this?
