I would suggest that he remove the relative posts and links to his updates as it wont be too long before he completely bricks a trusting newcomers tablet. A bit irresponsible to post them here as they were posted untested and before he even had a scroll!. He is just learning as he goes along like the rest of us, but unlike the rest of us he insists on encouraging users to use his edited scripts under the pretence he knows what he is doing. A classic case of a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. sorry, it needed saying.

if they did not have the ability to test them sufficiently then they would delay releasing them to the general community. In both your comments you only confirm what my issue was

"sufficiently" is a relative term, as jimmy pointed out, the clockworkmod wasn't specifically created by warpedflash, simply adjusted/changed to work on the scroll. To date, no one has stated that clockwork mod has bricked their device, therefore I would take that as evidence that warpedflash and others had indeed sufficiently tested the mod with the resources at their disposal, the only issue is with installing a stock update, which seems to have a questionable success rate anyway, there is no firm proof that the update is the reason that installation is failing as there is currently too small a sample of users who have updated to come to a definate conclusion.

Your "issue" was that inexperience led to the creation of a mod/patch that caused irreversable issue to the scroll tablet, as yet, this cannot be proven either way, and regardless, the mod is installed at the users own risk. I don't see how my comments confirm your issue.

I feel I have to side with the majority of people on here......

The fact that "modded" firmwares/softwares are posted on this forum does not mean that one has to use them. It is purely the forum members choice whether he/she wishes to use them or not. Disclaimers are always posted on here and possible side-effects are listed.

Each of us has our own "specialist field" of expertise, some of the forum members are not "technically-minded" at all, but we all have enough common sense to decide whether or not we wish to "mod" our units.I have very little knowledge of Android or its internal workings, yet I choose to "play" with my scroll, at my own risk to see what it can do. I am technically-savvy in other areas, Im a Chartered Electronics Engineer with more letters after my surname than are actually in it.My specialist field is Mobile Communications, but im still willing to learn.

I have encountered various issues whilst "modding" my scroll and I must say I am very grateful to the likes of Warpedflash and DJ_Steve to name but a few who have taken the time to help me. We share knowledge on here, helping each other - that, after all, is what forums are all about.

To say that Warpedflash et al should not post their work on here is wrong, he learns from us just as much as we learn from him. He's a 20 year old student, and deserves a chance, period. I,for one, will give him all the help I can just as he has helped me.

I just want to say what I said before. Everything I released was TESTED before I released it. multiple users multiple firmwares.

If the things didnt work I pulled the files off my mediafire account so they COULDNT be downloaded and cause problems. If you want to have a look check the thread here for one person who was amazingly helpful in testing everything for me prior to me recieveing my own scroll.

I have released various things over my time on the internet and know to not release things without warning or testing them first. Im not forcin anyone to use these just giving people the option to if they want to. They only existed as a path to getting 2.2 up and runnin in the first place, thats why my update-1 have had an update-2 etc they are just temporary fixes for people until we have a nicer 2.2 based rom

Echo Fonefixers comments....I am a newbie to the forum and having recently purchased a Scroll wasnt happy with the way it was working. Having found the forum and reviewing some posts from some very clever people i made the decision (nobody forced me), fully aware of the risks to modify my scroll and have not looked back - any build props, updates etc that i have applied have worked brilliantly and if i have had any queries, questions they have been answered promptly - keep up the great work guys you are doing fantastic job which is appreciated by the majority !!

If I could just wade in here with an unhelpful and incendiary post..
If you go round the internet blindly installing firmware updates without being aware of the risks and dangers and without reading any disclaimers then you are a tool of the highest order and you deserve a brick, which then can be used to build the asylum that you obviously belong in.

As for removing Warped posts, then this just smacks of censorship. If you went around the internet removing information that the terminally stupid can do damage with, then there wouldn't be much internet left.
