if you look inside the end of the keyboard connector, does it look like the contacts are damaged? or perhaps pushed further back than normal?

I had one of these and several (9+) of the keys didn't work, so Dabs picked it up to replace it. But they refunded me in stead, so I took it as a sign and didn't get another.

One thing which really turned me off about it was how the micro-USB connector sticks straight out from the tablet rather than down; making it exposed out of the case, unless the user moves the scroll off to the left in the case.

@burlebob As a simple check try plugging an optical mouse into the host connector (via an adapter). You can immeadiatly see if there is a power connection 'cause the laser on the mouse lights. In my case it has confirmed that the USB connector on the scroll is OK and it must be the moulded micro USB plug on the keyboard that is suspect. When I get home later I will investigate it further. :D

Think I've cracked it - looked at the pins and they seemed fine when comparing it with my usb hdd lead whch does work. Sprayed a squirt of servisol switch contact cleaner in the plug, shoved it in and hey presto it's working like a dream!

Bitsink: might be worth a try to sort yours out, you can get it from maplins and the like. I swear by the stuff for electronics work.

Diego: Agree about the connector, a nice flat ribbon cable with low profile usb connector would do the trick nicely, still for 20 it's not bad (haven,t found the pound sign yet, must read the keyboard map doc I read about earlier in this post :D )

Cheers for all your help guys

Slice of Humble Pie

After a review of the keyboard case, which I slated the quality of the accessory, its method of storage. Etc. I have been using it for some weeks now and you no what ?I am really pleased with it. I think the keys are nicely responsive, It certainly protects the Scroll quite well in low altitude drops and just looks very cool. I am tending to use this on my lap, rather than any of my laptops or mini-netbooks.
So I would like to eat a large slice of HP and was in fairness too quick to judge it properly. I would certainly recommend it highly to " I'm not sure to. Buy one brigade"

@burlebob: I took your advice and blasted the USB with contact cleaner a few times and now it works! :D
Unfortunately I now find that not all the keys work. :) :(
