when you download the apk file you should have a choice where to save the apk file :)
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Best regards brian.

Sorry my last post was unclear. I download the apk files to the sdcard but I think the installation process puts the bin on to the internal memory. However please advise if you know how the installation process works.

yes you are right it installs to the internal operating system on the nand so the way i see it is if you keep all your APK files separate on the sd card(and when yo get loads of them you can move them to a pc file for storage that will save space) you will be saving the nand memory its only 2GB and just think it runs all the programs/operating system from that etc. i put songs and vids on the sd card and play them ok :)
Best regards brian.

Total internal storage is 2gb

/nand is only 1.3gb

the /data partition size is 250mb (where non system apps are installed)

So what you are hoping for on 2.1 is not going to happen that way - Sorry.

That is fine to do, but the total size of the data partition where apps are Installed is 250mb - the .apks you are moving are the zip files for the app - the installed app is still taking up space on the limited data partition, as it stands now on 2.1.

good news - the aim with 2.2 is that the data partition will be 1.3 gb + hopefully install apps from SD card too
