Battery life and recharge time.

I have a scroll Tablet, but I have to wait until my birthday before I can get my hands on it.

The spec shows it take 16 hours to recharge, is this correct or a misprint?

Also what is the battery life like?

Can I upgrade the battery? I know this will invalidate the guarantee.

It's accurate as you can't overcharge the Li-Poly battery (Fire, brimstone and all manner of hell unleashes then)

between 2 hours and 1.something days (There's a thread here about extending the longevity by not running anything)

Well if you're happy to pull your birthday scroll to bits and solder in a new Li-Poly battery...

Tough about the birthday rule! My Scroll was a chrissie present (purchased by me and reimbursed by her) but there was no way she was taking it away again to wrap. It caused quite an argument

I only charge via mini usb now, and with the Scroll idle and the screen off it takes about 4 hours. Don't know where the 16hrs spec comes from, that might be if you're using it at the same time as charging from usb.

I find the battery life a very consistent 4 hours, even using wi-fi etc. If you're watching video it would be rather less. Happy Birthday, enjoy your pressie

Went to plug my scroll into the charger the other day snagged the wire and heard a crack had bent the connector and it wouldnt charge up so had to open up and resolder the joints on the scrolls 5 volt socket this worked plugged it in and it was charging again phew
whilst i had the back off I noticed well it was a bit of a mess in there bad solder joints also a small red wire coming from the battery going into the circuit board was hanging on by just one strand so resoldered it and the speaker wires also needed resoldering properly I was a bit shocked by the bad workmanship. all tidy now though.
now I don't get any sparks when I plug the usb in also it seems to hold it's charge where before the battey would die over a night any way just thought i'd mention it it might be of importance I'm no electrician but could it have been shorting the battery out?
