lol, I will have to turn my PC off and hide my laptop so my only internet access is the scroll if I am going to do that, because I put it down to use the PC, then forget about it for hours and hours lol

I will put it back on charge tonight even if there is a little battery left, I cant see it lasting the night now

BTW - I charged this up Switched OFF

Plug in the charger, and then power off, not sure if this is what helped the massive idle time

Doubt that helped the idle time - most likely it just charges up the bat quicker with the scroll off.

Your probably right, I was just remembering mobile phones from years ago.

Charging while turned on was a quick charge
Charging while turned off was a trickle charge

I dont think batteries need trickle charges anymore now though afaik

FINAL RESULT BEFORE 5% BATTERY AUTO SHUTDOWN

1 day, 12 hours, 56 minutes !

Almost 37 hours on idle, and occasional battery checks and photos

Thinking about it though, that is still pretty crap considering a mobile phone can last more than 3 times that, and it does use those 3 files we removed.

Even my laptop with a crappy 1.5hour battery can last 3 days + in sleep mode

Something else is using the battery, or standby is nothing more than turn off WiFi and Screen

Have you tried any CPU governors? I see XDA-devs have released a simple clone of setCPU without the frills. Might be worth a look. I don't have my scroll with me atm. But I'll take a look to see if the tele cpu has the ability to scale when I get home.

Just realised my Mobile phone charger works to charge the scroll via Mini USB port

Much longer than the scroll charger and has 1A power so I can play and charge now

The phone is the MDA Compact IV (a.k.a - HTC Touch Diamond)

The charger says "PHIHONG" on the back, and is rated 5v - 1A

your mobile will connect to your carrier, your scroll doesn't have a carrier, so continually polls looking for a one.
therefore wasting power.
