LogMeIn Ignition (Remote desktop app)

1.) Make a free account, then download and install the LogMeIn PC version.

https://secure.logmein.com/UK/products/free/

2.) Add your PC to the list of computers.

3.) Download and install the LogMeIn Ignition App

4.) Log in with the account details you made in step 1.

5.) Log into your PC via the scroll with your PC's user account log in details
(Yes you may need to set up a password on the PC)

6.) Enjoy remote access to your PC via the Scroll.
(Speed depends on bandwidth)

In the LogMeIn Options, you can set it up to lock the PC when remote accessing it, or not - also you can set which graphics details you want to have sent over the net, so less = faster access

If anyone knows of an app that is similar to this, except uses LAN / WLAN - please post it here.

@Detection, nice find and write up.

try teamviewer = http://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/mobile.aspx

I have not tried the android app, yet - but the pc version can run over LAN (which I have used for years)

I used VNC for years, then Teamviewer. I've not tried either on the scroll yet as I have a 22" screen and don't fancy trying to move around it that much, nor do I really have the need tbh as there is almost always someone home if I must have something done and if I'm in Belfast, etc., I'll not have WiFi anyhow.

Detection, Thanks for this find :)

I have set this up on my stock Scroll to remote in to an XP PC I use as a CCTV server. The Scroll and PC are both via Wi-Fi. I have been using this for around 3 months and it saves me getting the laptop out to check things out with the remote PC. It works a treat and I can view the CCTV camera images in real time on the Scroll.
I prefer to move the remote PC screen around on the Scroll to the mouse pointer in the centre and tap etc.. Its very flexible and the zoom view works very well. Nice one.

Cheers

Great post. I have tried using LogMeIn remote support service and it works well. Additionally, I have even tried trial versions of other remote support services such as gosupportnow, GoToMyPC etc. and they are good too.
