Ive got my eagle eye on this thread, the battery drain is really the only major downfall for this tablet

I have done the apndroid trick and the airplane wifi mode trick, and currently fully charging it now


Look forward to update.zip for completely removing the service from android


I have a feeling the cell service is constantly searching and searching for a signal that it will never find

You get a huge drain on real phones if you have network settings set to auto and are not within range of a signal, the phone continuously searches until it is back within range.... which kills the battery, and in our case, it will never find the signal so 100% of the time it is looking for something it will never find

Thanks for the info. I am keen to learn and want to have a go at renaming them manually which i should be able to do (just for my own learning) but first need to get the courage to root - already have lots of bricks that are worth next to nothing (ie. my house, lol) i don't need another.

What is wrong with the battery meter on firmware 1.01 ?

I look at the battery icon at the top and it is no longer moving so I guess its fully charged

I unplug it and right away the charge drops or 50% on the icon

I look on the lock screen and it says 29% remaining

Then plug it in and it says 93% remaining

Yes it does. I am on 1.01 and have a seemingly random reading at times.

Dont think so, it said it was half charged earlier and I let my gf play angry birds for about 15 mins and I got the less than 10% remaining warning flash up

Yes I do, several times, as it fluctuates from 8% to 14% for a good 20 minutes
