Just Keeping it Simple for New Owners

Hi,
I am a newcomer to android systems, and am struggling to decide what I should do to and if I should do it. I have looked at all the various threads and sub-headings on this site and found them very helpful and obviously contributors are brilliant at explaining issues and concerns, however may I make a suggestion for people like me, who need some guidance in this "new" device.
It seems that under some headings on "How to's" etc. that instead of being made clear, most of the threads appear to be a question and answer situation, which is slightly confusing and difficult to read, with back and forward posts containing various topics.
I may be living in KEEP IT SIMPLE VILLE, but would it be possible to post stand alone instructions to do the various modifications, or alterations, without anyone being able to directly post a reply to that heading group. So that if I wanted to strip phone apps out, there is a subheading REMOVAL OF PHONE APPS only with clear instructions ( obviously vetted by one of the very good "mechanics " on this site. So basically
REMOVING PHONE APPS
UPDATING FIRMWARE
DOWNLOADING APPS
etc etc
all appear as seperate instruction sets. I realise that it is more site work to achieve this, but whoever runs this site can cut and paste instruction sets to the various guide headings. Sorry for raising this issue as a rookie, but it might not just be me that feels this way.
For example on the existing HOW TO sections, some have over 300 individual posts, most have over 100 and these contain updates and explanations, which must make it worse for the "mechanics" to deal with, against a clean list of basic instructions 1 to 10 etc,

A valid point of which we are discussing behind the scenes.

In order to create such a set of threads will as you say take some time, but right now there are still issues being discovered with new firmwares and hardware being released, so making such a set of threads right now would result in them having to be edited over and over again to add more and more instruction sets.

So for now at least, the open threads are necessary with the replies for everyone to read though, and if they do not discover their own problem fixed, to add to the end of it.

We will soon enough, I'm sure, come to the end of new issues for common problems and be able to do this, but main / most common fixes are in post 1 of each thread, and other less common issues are discussed throughout the rest of the posts.

Reading them will take a while, but will also educate you on a variety of problems and fixes you may encounter.

The scroll tablet and this forum are both very new, so permanent instructions that work for everyone will take time to appear, until then, happy reading, and if you can not find the answer to a problem you are experiencing, your more than welcome to create a new thread for some help with it

Yes, i agree that as a newbie the site needs to more user friendly. For example there are several types scroll tablet. Some running either android 2.1 or 2.3. Other have 2gb or 4gb storage depending on your model. For example i have ordered a mi scroll running android 2.3. Therefore , when I check out the forum i need to find a thread about my tablet scroll version.
Instead i have work out if it is the excel, basic or 3d or a 2.1 version. There should be a separate thread for each storage option tablet.

Being a total noob when it comes to Droid, I'd agree, but wouldn't it be better to list by Distro' or am I missing something?

I assume that as far a Scroll's go, 2.x would be more or less the same for each tablet model? Then any small differences, could be listed for each model within that sub heading!

I'm assuming that a fix for say the lipsync issue, would be the same for all models of tablet within each Distro'?!

Just an idea, but as I've not even received mine yet, it's just a shot in the dark really!

Not if some models runs android are capacitive and others are resistive. I have the mi scroll which has removal battery, i don't think other models have removal batteries?????? So battery issues would different.

That could be dealt with easily, by having software threads all together in one place and hardware threads as a seperate section.

Within the hardware section, you could then have a model specific problem section, that would cover screen USB and battery issues etc and also have a section for accessories that have already been tested and a list of which tablets they actually work with!
