out of interest, what are these files?

The Build.prop file containts loads of settings for Android and is normally one of teh first things changed on custom roms as its piss easy to edit.

The Framework-res.apk is shockingly... you know the framework...

I have started cooking up a batery icon changing update.zip for a brave person to try.

Boot into clockwork > MAKE BACKUP > flash this update.zip = new battery icon hopefully anyway

Temped to try this update

When i load into rom manager (clockworkmod) and select backup rom, it asked me to select my current phone. Not sure what to select here, any thoughts?

What are the choices? The only Clockwork I have used before has the menu option "nandroid" then the option "backup" and it just does it...

I have also *hopefully* made my first kind of real-ish update. It removes the phone parts, adds astro and terminal emulator, adds a slightly modified build.prop (turns off data roaming that for some reason is set to on atm) and then adds the new battery meter. But as its the first I have built it may just be broken lol

Lots of different mobile phones e.g. HTC, Samsung, Motorola, no tablets (that i recognise) and nothing that looks like a generic setting either..... From experience is doesnt seem to care what i select at this stage, but I suspect that this is quite important when it comes to making modifications i.e updating

Interestingly, I renamed the phone.apk and the market still hangs on the download despite several restarts just to see.
