Postby brianzion » February 13th, 2011, 2:39 pm

:D hi all :)
this program connectify will give your scroll or any other wifi enabled device access to the internet through your pc. example: your router is downstairs and your pc is on the second floor you are up in the bedroom next to the room with pc, so you connect using the pc as a hotspot giving you better connection and speed, its working great on mine windows 7 64 bit pc.

What is Connectify?

Connectify is a free and easy to use software router for Windows 7 computers. With Connectify, users can wirelessly share any Internet connection: a cable modem, a cellular card, or even another Wi-Fi network. Other Wi-Fi enabled devices including laptops, smart phones, music players, and gaming systems can see and join your Connectify hotspot just like any other Wi-Fi access point and are kept safe and secure by password-protected WPA2 Encryption.

@barrelockingnut no

from there web site

Platform Support

What versions of Windows does Connectify run on?

Connectify runs on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, both in either 32 or 64 bits.

Does it run on Windows Vista or Windows XP?

Sorry, not at this time. Connectify depends on improvements made in Windows 7 to operate. Frankly, Windows 7 is such a big improvement, that we suggest you're better off upgrading than waiting for us to get all this working on an older version of Windows.

Whenever Win 7 actually becomes stable and not just a fur coat with no K............s then I will use it. Microsoft just finally managed a bug free, ironed out OS called XP then they ditched it. I can only imagine the horror of the new "Microsoft Linux" for tablet PCs !!

Rats and XP? Windows 7 not being stable? Lay off the E110 colourings mate, they are messing with your sense of reality.

upon downloading connectify, MS Security Essentials warned of it containing advertising malware:

Category: Adware

Description: This program delivers potentially unwanted advertisements to your computer.

even if it is clean like the following blog claims, i think i'll look for a similar, open source application.

i have had no issues with the program running on my system i ran a deep scan with kaspersky on my pc and it found no real danger i sent it off to there labs for analysis and they sent back a false positive report.
