SteroidROM 2.2 progress

ok folks, apologies for disappearing for an age been crazy busy with work and family issues to start with and secondly im stuck at a bit of an annoying point with 2.2 on scroll for the moment through no fault of mine, let me explain this

firstly at the moment i cant build a better kernel with any sort of performance tweaks etc due to the fact that SO are in breach of GPL license rules as they will not release the kernel source AND BUILD CONFIG for the scroll, by the rules of the GPL llicense the kernel must be available and usable to build a working system which without the config for scroll we cannot do,

secondly the dsp libraries provided by telechips (the maker of the chipset in scroll) are actually incomplete and cannot be compiled so this is also preventing us from being able to build android with any sort of hardware video/audio acceleration.

ok thats you all back up to date,

and if any of you fancy trying to push SO for the above info please do - i have the kernel i just need the config to allow scroll to boot using a new kernel.

If we're confident that they are indeed in violation of the license agreement I think we should report them. Also, a barrage of emails from all of us might nudge them along, before we have to go getting all heavy handed.

as far as i know the kernel has to be able to build a working device, currently without config it doesnt

I have been asking them for contact info or links to source files since I got my scroll, so far no reply. I'm guessing thereare no forum users from storageoptions. I know with other device forums there are sometimes development or tech support guys arround who can point to stuff like this.

At one point in the past I know that SO were definitely reading every post on this forum, and im convinced that there are registered members on here that work for them (they may have not posted though - there are a considerable number of zero-post registered members). If someone would like to post on here an open letter to SO ill be happy to lock the thread and sticky it (or even make it an announcement so its more visible). If anyone can do so please pm me with a link to the relevant post.
