Poll - What Make Of Mobile Do You Own?

Postby Fonefixer » March 17th, 2011, 6:10 am

Being the nosey devil that I am, I want to find out the most popular make of mobile phone currently owned by forum members - just to see who has the largest market-share among us.

You can also put a post on here about your likes and dislikes of your present handset - if there is enough comments about a particular problem I will gladly pass the info on to the relevant manufacturers R&D dept. (all info will remain anonymous). I cant guarantee they will do anything about it - but it has been known to achieve results in the past.

If you own more than one handset please only choose the make that you use most often.

Had my nokia e71 for nearly 2 years now, and although I'm overdue an upgrade I can't bring myself to replace it, its by far the best phone I have ever owned!

Bought a Orange San Francisco (ZTE BLADE, Android 2.1) from Argos last week 90 quid, + 10 quid on payg.
Unlocked and rooted.
Runs all the same apps as the Scroll.

It also has issues with the market.

Apart from that I like it a lot.

Biffo: what market issues do you get with it? AFAIK the market works ok on them.

John: The E71 is a pretty reliable phone - the only issues I ever see when them is cracked screens or rebooting issues ( a reflash cures the latter).

Fonefixer: Every time I try and access the market I get the message saying cant because I dont have 'google calender' loaded.

Google advise a factory reset then access the market before I do anything else. But as I spent 10 quid getting it unlocked I'm loathe to do so.(miser at heart)

Thanks for writing in. If you're having trouble accessing Android Market
on your device, we recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps:

- Restart your phone, and try accessing Android Market again.
- Confirm that there is connectivity on your device (contact your mobile
service provider if you aren't connected)

If you're still unable to access Android Market, we recommend performing a
factory data reset on your device. Please note that this will reset your
device to its original state, and while your media content (photos, music,
etc.) will not be deleted from the SD card, applications and their related
data will be uninstalled. To perform a factory reset:

1) Go to Home > Menu > Settings > Privacy
2) Press "Factory data reset"
3) Press "Reset phone"

Note that in some devices the "Factory data reset" option may be located
under a different menu item, such as Phone Storage.

After you perform the factory reset, make sure you sign into your device
with the same primary Google Account you were using before. Please note,
your primary Google Account will be the first account you use to sign into
your phone after the factory reset.

If you're still having trouble accessing Android Market, let us know and
we'll be happy to investigate further.
