Do not get mad with people you have ripped off, pay them the money you have stolen, you have their paypal addresses, easy repair, if you do not, expect consequences.

Detection just stop you have lost nothing at all. If people who actually donated have problems they can bring them up with Steve directly. this post is meant for updates and that's what it will be used for. If you think you can do better without the sources that are needed I'm sure people would have provided you the same.

Also internet rage tends to result in bugger all.

You know what - people like you need to take a look at others who actually care about others - infact I wouldnt be surprised if you were steve

Googling a name proves nothing, but introducing and promoting / selling someone who takes money and delivers nothing makes me think otherwise. We got a rom that was available on many other sites and had the exact same problems as "steves" - explain that.

Except I have used the name warpedflash for about 6 years and own warpedflash.com that does not have the whois details hidden? before that I was Mrmatch if you really care that much.

I introduced/promoted him because he has done dev work for quite a few devices before as well as android ports.
The reason the problems are the same is Steve's current 2.2 rom is based off of that one? he never claimed otherwise. He just got that one booting on the scroll and did a few minor tweaks. Hell in his release post he states that?

Enough, ffs.

I would like to work with Steve to strip out stuff that fcs on this 2.2 and find an lcd density that works etc, remove phone apks, etc etc.

Forget hi end games etc, a nippy web tablet with market is good enough for now.

Sounds good to me. Stripping out apps shouldn't be hard. I thought the standard LCD density was ok? That you could test quite easily by changing it in build.prop.
For some reason he wanted to keep the 3 phone apk's (cant remember why) but they should be quite easy to remove as well.

If the 2.2 gets a bit more usable it would be good. hes off IRC now so i cant ask him but drop him an email? he has his streak at work so gets emails.

I agree with Veng, this has gone far enough....

I, like Veng, knew this may have not worked. If SO are in breach of GPL then they should be notified of such and dealt with. It appear obvious to me that the Chinese manufacturers of the Scroll have no intention of releasing all the relevant code. You only have to look at the CherryPad forum to see this (they are, after all, one and the same - I have seen no evidence to the contrary.) They have been falsely promised 2.2, then 2.3.

We are, therefore, stuck with a tablet on 2.1. Some of us (myself included) have contributed towards the development of a more recent operating system, but I respectfully suggest we write this off as a no-go.

Openly threatening the developer is not going to solve issues- especially when the UK importer is totally unwilling to fully co-operate and provide the required information. This was unforseen at the time we contributed and is not, in my view, the developers fault.

I am afraid it will be a case of "if you want a 2.2 or later tablet, buy a new one with it preinstalled and from a reputable manufacturer - this of course - discounts SO from the equation".
