Flight mode apps and Saving Battery

Postby superplay » January 6th, 2011, 12:31 pm

Reading the forums here there are discussions on removing/disabling the unused phone functions on the scroll to conserve battery life.

There was a tip in one of the threads that suggested that you could use one of the "Flight Model Apps" to achive this without rooting your device.

I have downloaded the "Air plane Mode Wi-Fi Tool" by daniel velazco and also the flight mode widget.

However even when the tool(s) are in flight mode the battery usage for "Cell Standby" still eats power away.

Am I using the wrong applications?

don't rely on the readings i don't think that they are correct - test to see how long you can use the scroll from a full charge.

I got 6hrs with the apndroid app

Veng I started a new thread as the the other threads are focusing on jail breaking the device and my query was relating to using "Air plane Mode" applications . I placed the query in this forum as it seems the most appropriate as it linked to the other treads.

The other threads are great if you want to read though 10+ pages in order to understand rooting, hacking ETC.

I am using the apndroid settings and airplane mode wifi on app but cell standby always shows 75% or more. Tried using other airplane mode Widgets but same results. Did get 5.5 hours use though with 25% remaining so looks like battery is lasting longer. Any ideas why battery usage still shows so much cell standby usage?

forget the % readings, they are not that accurate - just see how long you can use it after following this
