I think it is more of an issue with the 8" Scrolls on FW 1.02 and 1.02s - as the recovery partition is a different size. The only issue with 7" scrolls if that you need to remove/rename the install-recovery.sh file 1st (not all FW have this file) otherwise on a reboot the stock recovery will be flashed back over CWM.

Hello thanks for the tutorial,

I have 1.02 firmware and have not been able to get this going, I get freeze on the bootloader screen. IT doesn't reach the recovery menu.

Pre-installed 1.02 and 1.02s Warning
You may not be able to install clockwork recovery we are looking into this. The recovery may boot to a blank screen and not function. there is another post with teh dfault recovery files you can use to restore them.

How can i get the old recovery menu files? IS it this post? viewtopic.php?f=15&t=779 that im looking for?

Thanks,

Hi rammy, no i haven't tried flashing the mtd0_boot file due to the fact i thought mtd6_recovery.img would be the issue?

And im afraid if i flash the boot file, and do not have a recovery partition i may be stuck with a brick.

did you search for and delete the files in warpedflash 1st post? cos this is what causes the problem

Assorted firmwares 1.01/1.02 Warning
/system/etc/install-recovery.sh -
You will need to have a rooted tablet and delete this file if you want to install a custom recovery image! Otherwise it will flash the original recovery file back when you reboot!

looking at evilbobins post it looks like you just need to flash the recovery img
To flash:
1. unzip and copy the image I.E mtd6_recovery.img to your sd card
2.make sure your scroll it plugged in via usb, and that you have unmounted the sd card also that debug mode is on (normally on by default)
3. open a ADB shell to your scroll (open a command prompt in the same folder as adb and type adb shell)
4. Copy&paste this or type flash_image recovery /sdcard/mtd6_recovery.img

As long as you get no errors you should be good to go with a 1.02 stock recovery image
