What on earth does flash do that requires so much processing power? We used to play Half Life with less than that :)

i make charlie right with SO's track record it will be a botched together 2.3os with so many firmwares as to make a Dev,s job nigh on impossible to work on
I hope i,m wrong but i doubt if their will be any way we can pull this 2.3 to our Scrolls
SO dont seem to give a s#~t about their device once it has left the factory
i will wait and see a while but may get me an Archos???

I have to agree. personally although I like the scroll, storage options has a complete lack of cs skills and I will not be buying from them again. The 2.3 if indeed it is that and not just a skinned 2.1 will be nothing short if a bodge job.

thats interesting a new scroll with a better screen as for the market please see my post here >>> viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1258

this site is great for apps if your market is not working >>>Applanet >>> http://www.applanet.net/

link to storage options website http://www.storageoptions.com/products/ ... capacitive

7" Capacitive Multi-Touch Screen
With its 7" Capacitive Multi-Touch Screen, this model of the Scroll is even easier to use than ever. The new design means no pressure is needed on the screen for it to operate and Scroll now has multi-touch compatibility for the first time which means the gestures you might be familiar from your smart phone or other tablets also work with the Scroll. I.e. a) Single/double click , b) Slide , c) Pinch to zoom. Scroll is effortless, every time.

The Numbers – a Powerful, Capable Tablet
Scroll has a powerful 1GHz ARM 11 processor, 256MB DDR RAM, 2GB internal memory (expandable to 32GB via a micro SD card) and an 800x480 resolution screen making it one of the more capable tablets available. All this adds up to a smoother, slicker, more enjoyable experience for you.

With regard to Flash on new tablet I have had a reply from Mike Riley at Storage Options regarding the Scroll' he told me:
"Scroll does not support Adobe Flash content so iPlayer is not natively supported."

Just seen this thread and according to the SO website there is no mention of the OS version! Their other models clearly state 2.1.

Does this mean they don't know? :D

Adobe has brought out a version of flashplayer that can run on Android 2.2 so I thought that as my tablet has 2.3 that there wouldn't be a problem.

When I raised the question I got this answer from Mike Riley:
The Scroll's hardware does not support Adobe Flash this is not related to the Android OS.

I don't understand why the hardware is the determining factor. Can anyone explain this to me, please.
